About Us

We’re a team of experts, entrepreneurs, and visionaries with a dream: to create the perfect food for dogs and cats of all ages. Our product line is made for all animal lovers just like us, who care about animals, people, and the planet. Our products are made from cultured protein and are based on deep science.

We are a biotech startup developing clean protein pet foods that are healthier, better for the environment, and more humane than conventional products. Our first cultured protein product is made from human-grade Koji, a fungi already enjoyed by billions of people around the world that is eco-friendly and renewably sourced. Future products will include cultured meat derived humanely from animal cells. All products and ingredients are sourced, formulated, and made in the United States.

Our company and vision is driven by pioneers in cellular agriculture led by Chief Science Officer Ron Shigeta, PhD, an experienced business team led by Chief Executive Officer Ryan Bethencourt of biotech accelerator IndieBio, and Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Ernie Ward, known as “America’s Pet Advocate.”

Our investors include VegInvest, Stray Dog Capital, Felicis Ventures, Blue Horizon, Babel Ventures, EverHope Capital, Macro Ventures, Aera VC, Founders Fund and Peter Thiel.

Meet the team behind your dog’s and cat’s new favorite meal. We’re driven by the goal to make pet food an honest and sustainable business that cares about animals, people, and the environment. We’re striving to leave a better planet for future generations.
